In healthcare, finding the right words in a stressful moment can be challenging. You speak up about a safety risk - and get brushed off. Someone hands you another “urgent” task when you’re already at breaking point. A family demands the impossible.
You breathe. You try to explain clearly. You try to stay polite. To be reasonable. To not make it worse.
And still, your words slide past unheard. And you’re left running back over conversations in your mind - frustrated, doubting yourself, wondering why it always feels like this.
It’s not because you’re not capable.  It’s because no one ever handed you the language that holds your boundary for you.
You don’t have to fight, shout or explain to be heard. You just need to use the right words.
Â
Imagine if instead of second-guessing and over-explaining every conversation, you spoke with confidence.
Instead of walking away frustrated, you left interactions knowing your point was understood.
And instead of constantly bracing for the next clash, you knew how to set the tone before the conflict even begins.Â
The Say It So You're Heard crib sheet gives you simple, powerful phrases to hold your boundaries, de-escalate conflict, and speak with quiet authority - even in the most high-pressure moments.
MEET THE EXPERTS BEHINDÂ THEÂ CRIB SHEET
Hello - I'm Dr Rachel Morris -Â former GP, Executive Coach, host of the You Are Not A Frog podcast and founder of Wild Monday.
For years, I struggled with overwhelm, trying to fix everything and keep everyone else happy - whilst avoiding the challenging conversations which I knew I needed to have. Training as a coach helped me discover tools that changed that. I realised that to lead truly effectively, I had to be able to embrace challenging conversations as opportunities to improve performance and uncover the real issues that get in the way of work that matters.
Now, when I have a tricky conversation coming up, I know how I’ll handle it. I’m confident that conflict can help us move forward and I know that, however the other person reacts, I’ve got the tools to respond.
Through live training, online courses, and the You Are Not a Frog podcast, I’ve shared these tools with thousands of doctors and professionals in high-stakes roles. My mission? To help you beat burnout, work happier, and thrive—in work and life.
Hello! - I’m Dr Sarah Coope, Director of Training at Wild Monday.Â
Time and again, I’ve seen unhealthy conflict derail teams and sap the energy of even the most committed leaders. In the past, I know I’ve struggled to speak up and challenge poor behaviour in colleagues because of the fear of repercussions.
In a high-pressure environment, no one wants to be seen as “difficult” or “challenging”. But as a mediator and coach, I’ve learned that responding to conflict constructively is an essential part of working together.
We developed the Hi-5 model to use as a practical framework to guide challenging conversations of all kinds, turning conflict into a force for better working, clearer communication, and more effective relationships.
My goal is to help leaders and team members reduce the friction, stress and anxiety that drain your energy from what you’re best at – so you can work smarter and thrive.
